Occupational Therapy

Do you have concerns with the way your child is moving, concerned that they are behind in their developmental milestone achievements or wondering if your pre-schooler is ready for Kindergarten?

 We can help!

Occupational Therapy services include:

  • Occupational Therapy Initial Evaluation- a 60-minute evaluation performed from the comfort of your home, that includes:

    • Medical, social and sensory history review

    • Sensory and/or standardized assessment administration as appropriate

    • Clinical observations of movement, play and school skills as appropriate

    • Comprehensive recommendations related to a customized home programming and ongoing treatment plan of care.

  • Virtual OT Consult- a 45-minute virtual visit that includes:

    • Discussion of your current developmental or sensory concerns

    • Review of age-appropriate developmental milestone acquisition

    • Discussion of strategies and recommendations related to a customized home programming plan and establishing appropriate plan of care.

    • A full clinical OT evaluation may be recommended based on observations to obtain a more in-depth assessment of your child’s motor and sensory skills.

  • Occupational Therapy- Occupational therapy services may be recommended after your child’s initial clinical evaluation. These sessions will be 60 minutes long and may be scheduled weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or on a follow-up basis. Each session will address the developmental, motor and/or sensory goals established between the therapist and the patient/caregiver during the initial evaluation. All goals are patient/caregiver/family driven and highlight the importance of skill acquisition and progression and increasing or preserving the child’s independence in activities of daily living.

Areas typically addressed during an OT evaluation and treatment:

  • Fine motor skills

  • Visual motor skills

  • Visual perceptual skills

  • Self-care skills

  • Sensory Processing skills

The most important tool for your child’s success, is YOU! Your presence and commitment to your child’s therapy is paramount for their carryover and success with therapy recommendations.
